Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Dec.8 : Rayat Bahra College of Nursing organized an awareness program on the occasion of World AIDS Day, led by students of B.Sc. Nursing first, second, and fourth semesters.
Sharing details of the event, College Principal Dr. Meenakshi Chand said that the main objective was to increase awareness about HIV/AIDS among students and the community, dispel misconceptions, and emphasize the importance of safe practices and regular testing.
As part of the program, a poster-making competition was conducted in collaboration with the Red Ribbon Club. Students displayed attractive and informative posters on themes such as HIV prevention, myths vs facts, youth participation, and the social significance of the Red Ribbon. In the competition, Japneet secured first position, Renu second, and Bhoomi third.
Following this, students conducted an awareness rally on the campus, raising slogans such as “Stop AIDS, Keep the Promise,” “No AIDS – Know AIDS,” and “Awareness is the First Step to Prevention.” Through the rally, they encouraged people to adopt precautionary measures and stay informed. After the rally, students formed a human chain representing the Red Ribbon symbol, delivering a message of unity, responsibility, and collective effort against AIDS.
On the occasion, Prof. Kanchan, Prof. Shivali, Prof. Ritika Sharma, along with the entire college staff, were present.
