Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha /Feb.7 : The Sangam Indian Folk Dance and Music Festival was successfully organized at Rayat Bahra Education City, in collaboration with the B.Ed College and the National Youth Development Center Talwara. The festival showcased the cultural talent of students from various colleges on campus, featuring performances of Giddha, Bhangra, folk songs, and competitions such as debates, group discussions, and community work.
The event began with a welcome address by Principal Dr. Pallavi Pandit. Chief Guest Former Union Minister Vijay Sampla urged the youth to engage in cultural activities alongside academics and emphasized the importance of nurturing relationships. Campus Director Dr. Chander Mohan highlighted the event’s role in promoting teamwork, leadership, and social responsibility among students.
The students also held an awareness rally against drug abuse, spreading a strong social message. National Youth Development Center Director Sanjeev Zakmi stressed the significance of connecting youth with their culture.
The program featured notable judges, including Dr. Maninder Grover, Dr. Sukhmeet Bedi, and others, who praised the participants’ performances. Awardees included Chetna Chaudhary (Debate), Amanpreet (Solo Song), Kanan (Solo Dance), and Law College (Group Dance).
On this occasion, Harinder Jaswal, Kuldeep Rana, and Prof. Gurpreet Bedi, along with the directors, principals, department heads, and teachers of all the colleges on campus, were present at the program.
