Harshdeep Singh and Jasveer Kaur declared Best Athletes, Engineering School emerges Overall Champion

Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Mar.29 : Rayat Bahra Professional University successfully organized its Annual Athletics & Sports Meet with great enthusiasm, zeal, and true sportsmanship under the patronage of Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra and the leadership of Vice Chancellor Dr. (Prof.) Chander Mohan.

 

Students from various schools of the university actively participated in the event and showcased their talent, discipline, and competitive spirit, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere across the campus.

 

Inspector Meena K. Pawar, an international weightlifter and “Iron Lady” title holder, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In her motivational address, she encouraged students to make sports an integral part of their lives and highlighted the importance of fitness, dedication, and hard work in achieving success.

 

Chancellor Gurvinder Singh Bahra, in his address, emphasized that sports are not only essential for physical well-being but also play a crucial role in personality development, discipline, and team spirit. He motivated students to actively engage in sports alongside academics.

 

During the event, Vice Chancellor Dr. (Prof.) Chander Mohan welcomed the distinguished guests and shared detailed insights into the university’s academic and sports achievements.

 

A series of athletics competitions were conducted during the meet, filling the campus with excitement and enthusiasm. Students delivered remarkable performances, reflecting the university’s commitment to promoting sports.

 

In the closing ceremony, the University School of Engineering and Technology won the Overall Championship Trophy, while the University School of Law secured the Runner-up position.

 

In individual categories, Harshdeep from the University School of Education and Physical Education was declared Best Male Athlete, while Jasveer Kaur from the University School of Computer Applications was awarded Best Female Athlete.

 

The event was successfully coordinated by Dr. Param Preet ( Director sports ). whose meticulous planning and dedicated efforts ensured the smooth execution of the sports meet.

 

Former MP Avinash Khanna, Ex-Commandant Pradeep Dogra (CRPF), an international player and Maharaja Ranjit Singh Awardee, and District Athletics Coach Balbir Singh were also present on the occasion. The event was attended by Sarpanch , advocates , principals, directors, deans, heads of departments, faculty members, and staff of the university.
