In a grand literary celebration at Nature Fest 2025, held at Lajvanti Stadium, Hoshiarpur, renowned writer Harkeerat Singh Sandhar officially launched his latest book, Zila Hoshiarpur: Punjab Da Nagina. The book was unveiled by Komal Mittal (Deputy Commissioner, Hoshiarpur) and Nikas Kumar (Additional Deputy Commissioner, Hoshiarpur) in the presence of distinguished guests and literature enthusiasts.
During the event, Sandhar shared his inspiration for the book, tracing it back to Russell Hamjato’s Mera Dagestan, which he first read in his uncle Avtar Singh Sandhar’s library. His deep passion for Hoshiarpur’s history led him to dedicate over six years to meticulously researching and documenting the district’s cultural heritage, folklore, historical significance, and its connection to the Indus Valley Civilization.
Renowned journalist Sanjiv Kumar appreciated Sandhar’s efforts, highlighting the book’s importance in preserving and promoting Hoshiarpur’s glorious past and cultural identity. He lauded the author for bringing to light the rich traditions, folk arts, and resilience of the people, making this book a valuable resource for generations to come.
The event was graced by several notable personalities, including Dr. Kulwinder Pannu, who also commended Sandhar for his dedication to literature and history. The presence of Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal and Additional Deputy Commissioner Nikas Kumar further added to the prestige of the occasion, as they praised the book for its detailed insights into the historical and cultural legacy of Hoshiarpur.
