Hoshiarpur/July 25/Daljeet Ajnoha : Sainik Welfare Department, Hoshiarpur and Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt of India are jointly organising a program to celebrate Rajat Jayanti of Kargil Vijay Diwas at its local office on Court Road, here, tomorrow.
Briefing media today, District Defence Welfare Officer, Hoshiarpur, Wing Commander Gurpreet Singh (Retd.) said that about 100 guests including ex servicemen are attending the program from four other districts including Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Nawan Shehar and Ropar, besides Hoshiarpur. Out of them 12 are from the families of Bravehearts from Hoshiarpur.
He said Veer Naris, disabled and decorated soldiers will be honoured on the occasion.
The program will start at 10.00 am tomorrow for all the invited guests and general public.
Tributes will paid at the War Memorial to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives during Kargil War while protecting our borders.
Field Publicity Officer, CBC, Rajesh Bali informed that his department is putting up a one-day photo exhibition depicting the valour and sacrifice of our brave soldiers while protecting our borders in Kargil War tomorrow on the Vijay Diwas in the Martyrs Hall in Sainik Welfare Office. He also shocased a specially designed badge on Rajat Jayanti of Kargil Vijay Diwas which will be presented to all the family members of the Bravehearts and ex servicemen tomorrow.
He said Central Bureau of Communication is putting up such photo exhibitions at many places across India as a tribute to all those brave soldiers who fought for maintaining the ‘Aan, Baan and Shaan’ of our beloved Nation. The exhibition will also motivate all especially younger generation to join Indian armed forces.
