Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha /Nov.12 : The Guru Ravidas Sadhu Sampraday Society (Regd.) Punjab and the All India Adi Dharm Mission (Regd.) have appealed to the Central Government to conduct the Punjab University Senate elections at the earliest and restore peace in the university. The organisations said that Punjab University represents the pride and identity of Punjabi culture, and the government must act quickly to ensure that the future of thousands of students does not fall into darkness due to delays.In a joint statement, the Sant Samaj said that the “Save Punjab University, Chandigarh Front” and the ongoing students’ movement reflect the collective struggle of the people of Punjab. The success of this movement, they said, will not just mark a victory for one agitation but will symbolize the triumph of Punjabi heritage and unity.The saints further asserted that the Punjabi community has always demonstrated perseverance and courage in facing challenges. Therefore, they urged the government to hold the Senate elections without testing the patience and faith of students any further, in order to maintain peace, harmony, and brotherhood across the state.“Punjab University is our pride, and Punjab’s right over it is unquestionable,” the statement emphasized.Among those present at the meeting were Guru Ravidas Sadhu Sampraday Society Chairman Sant Sarwan Dass Ji, Chief Sant Nirmal Dass Babajore, General Secretary Sant Inder Dass Sekkhae, Treasurer Sant Paramjit Dass Nagar, Senior Vice-President Sant Sarwan Dass Salem Tavari, All India Adi Dharm Mission National President Sant Satvinder Heera, Sant Balwant Singh Dingaria, Sant Dharampal Shergarh, Sant Ramesh Dass Kallran Sherpur Dhakoun, Sant Jagir Singh (Sarbatt Bhalla Ashram Nandachaur), Sant Manjeet Dass Vichohe, Sant Kuldeep Dass Bassi Maroof, Baba Balkar Singh Taggar Wadalah, Sant Santosh Dass Bharta, Sister Santosh Kumari (Building In-charge), and Sant Bibi Kamlesh Kaur (Nahlan), along with several preachers and intellectuals.
