SDM Hoshiarpur Issues Strict Orders

Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Nov. 03 : Acting on the directions of Deputy Commissioner Aashika Jain, a crucial meeting was held today under the chairpersonship of SDM Hoshiarpur, Gursimranjeet Kaur, at the SDM office to discuss measures for preventing stubble burning.The meeting was attended by CDPOs from Hoshiarpur Blocks 1, 2, and Bhunga, BDPOs of Hoshiarpur Blocks 1, 2, and Bhunga, Naib Tehsildar Hoshiarpur, and ADOs of the same regions. The SDM instructed all officials to maintain strict vigilance against stubble burning incidents and to take immediate action against any violations.Emphasizing the environmental hazards caused by stubble burning, Kaur noted that such practices severely pollute the air and threaten public health. She called for coordinated efforts by different departments to educate farmers about alternative straw management techniques and to ensure that necessary machinery or assistance is made available where required.The SDM further directed that regular inspections be carried out across all areas to ensure complete compliance. She also asked officials to submit periodic reports, adding that the district administration is pursuing a policy of zero tolerance toward stubble burning.Appealing to farmers, Gursimranjeet Kaur urged them to support the administration in protecting the environment and maintaining air quality.
