Volunteers transformed the school during the camp
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Dec.8 : Under the directions of Assistant Director of Youth Services Department Punjab, Preet Kohli, a 7-day National Service Scheme camp was organized by the National Service Scheme Unit of PM Shri Government Senior Secondary School Hajipur under the leadership of the school head, Principal Sanjeev Kumar and under the supervision of Program Officer Samarjeet Singh Lecturer English, in which 53 volunteers participated. During the camp, the volunteers transformed the school with beautification of the school, cleanliness drive, enlarging the stage, maintenance of trees and flowering plants, and many creative activities related to the environment. Meanwhile, various national and international days were celebrated including World AIDS Day, National Conservation Day, International Day of Disabled Persons, Naval Day, Dr. Ambedkar Mahaparinirvana Day, Flag Day etc.
This seven-day National Service Scheme camp was inaugurated by the school principal and renowned educationist Sanjeev Kumar. He informed the students about the importance of the National Service Scheme. NSS Program Officer Samarjeet Singh shared information about the outline and purpose of the camp and said that 21 boys and 32 girls from classes 10+1 and 2 are participating in the camp as volunteers. These volunteers completed the allotted activities with a commendable sense of dedication. Lecturer Sukhjit Singh played an important role in the smooth running of the camp. During the camp, informative discussions on various topics were held by eminent writer Karnail Singh Kotli, journalist Gurjit Singh Bhamra, lecturer Parvinder Singh Gill, Krishan Kumar, Ritu Sharma, Narinder Singh, Rajeshwar Singh, Tejinder Singh, Manoj Kumar, Rajinder Kaur, Surinder Kumar, Krishna Kumari, Nidhi Sharma, Kamaljit Kaur, Gurdial Singh. The closing ceremony of the camp was presided over by Numberdar Vijay Singh, Yogeshwar Salaria District Art Mentor, Senior Journalist Harkiran Singh and Rajat. On this occasion, the stage was conducted by volunteer Banni. Rajni Bala presented today’s thoughts and Isha Chaudhary presented the camp report. Diksha Thakur and Palak Verma shared folk dance and Priya shared patriotic songs and poetry. Sameer was selected for the overall performance, Bani and Manpreet Vashisht for the best volunteer. Mandeep Kaur, Piyush Birla, Palak Verma, Harpreet Singh, Vasudev, Amandeep Singh were honored for their contribution in various fields and all the volunteers were presented with medals and pens as a token of appreciation. Lecturer Sudha, Amita Mehta, Manjit Singh, Rajneesh Kumar Campus Manager, Bandana, Sheetal Mahajan, Rohini Gupta, Neetu, Kulwinder Singh, Harjinder Kaur, Varinder Kumar SLA, Manoj Kumar, Jaskaran Singh, Bhagwan Das, Bhupinder Singh, Dalvir Singh, Surinder Pal, Sukhbir Singh Arora Sukhi and all the staff made commendable contributions in the camp.
