Applications will be received for making new votes, deleting or changing them
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/August 17: A special campaign is being run by all the election registration officers of the district on 20th, 21st and 22nd August to update the voter lists prepared on the basis of 1st January 2023 for the general elections of Gram Panchayats 2024. During these three days, the officers will go to the villages and receive applications for making new votes, deleting or changing them.
Giving information in this regard, District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Hoshiarpur Komal Mittal said that the final publication of voter lists has been done on 07.01.2024 on the basis of the eligibility date of voters 01.01.2023 for the general elections of Gram Panchayats. He informed that claims and objections regarding voter lists were received till December 29, 2023 and were settled on January 5 and final publication was done.
He has appealed to the general public falling under the limits of the concerned Gram Panchayats in the district that they can use Form No. 1 for creating votes, Form No. 2 for any objection/deletion of vote and Form No. 3 for correction in the given details (change of address or correction in address or any other correction). These forms are available in the offices of all Electoral Registration Officers (SDMs).
