Jalandhar/ August 23 /Daljeet Ajnoha :World-famous wrestler and Indian icon Dilip Singh Rana, popularly known as The Great Khali, has announced a new collaboration with the GLW – Global League Wrestling, which is set to bring international-style wrestling to Indian soil on a large scale.
At a press interaction in Jalandhar Sanjay Vishwanathan, Chairman of Aadi Group and Cameron Vale CEO GLW shared details about the project. He said, “India has a population of 150 crore, and the passion for wrestling is unmatched here. The time has come to take this sport to every town and village. Through our partnership with Khali ji, we aim to reach the grassroots level and inspire future champions.”
Vishwanathan added that this partnership will not only promote wrestling but also help build a strong sporting future for Punjab and the entire nation. He pointed out that just as football grows through grassroots initiatives, wrestling too will expand its base in India with such collaborations.
Highlighting the importance of visibility, the organizers confirmed that Doordarshan will telecast the wrestling league across India, reaching more than 100 crore viewers daily for 40 weeks starting September 17. Khali’s disciples and young wrestlers will also participate, giving Indian audiences a chance to watch homegrown talent perform at international standards.
The event is expected to mark a new chapter in India’s sports entertainment industry, combining the charisma of The Great Khali with the global expertise of GLW.
