Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Dec 16 : To commemorate the ‘Vijay Diwas’ the victory of 1971 , a function was held today at the War Memorial in Hoshiarpur by the Alliance Club International, District-119, and the Directorate of Defence Services Welfare Punjab.
On this occasion, Ally. Ashok Puri, Director Alliance Club International , Ally. Ally Vivek Sahni District Governor, Colonel Raghuvir Singh, Colonel Malook Singh, Major Ritika Sharma, Brigadier Surjit Singh, and Captain Jatinder Singh Rana, President Defence Veterans Organisation, were specially present.
At the beginning of the program, Colonel Raghuvir Singh remembered the soldiers martyred in the 1971 war and the Kargil War, as well as those who were martyred in the wars fought for the unity and integrity of the country. On this occasion, Brigadier Surjit Singh remembered the 108 Army personnel from Hoshiarpur district who were martyred in the 1971 war and apprised the attendees about the glorious history of Indian Army.
On this occasion, Ally. Ashok Puri along with District Governor of Alliance Club Ally. Vivek Sahni, District Guide Ally. Ramesh Kumar, Ally. Ashwani Kumar Dutta, Dr. Harjinder Singh Oberoi, and President of Hoshiarpur Greater Ally. Ajay Sharda, honoured Brigadier Surjit Singh, Captain Gurbaksh Singh, Subedar Bachan Singh, Subedar Santokh Singh, and Sheetal Singh from Mehmowal, with a token of love for their significant contributions in the 1971 war.
On this occasion, Colonel Raghuvir Singh thanked the Alliance Club International, District-110, and Ally. Ashok Puri for their collaboration in this program. He further encouraged other NGOs to collaborate with organizations that contribute to the unity and integrity of the country. He also appreciated the enthusiasm of the Army personnel from Ex-Servicemen Garhdiwala.
