During a special meeting at police station Mahilpur, DSP Garhshankar Jaspreet Singh said that under the government’s campaign against drugs, his teams go to different villages in the sub-division and make people aware to stay away from drugs. Giving information about the campaign against drugs, he said that under the leadership of Deputy Speaker Jai Krishan Singh Rouri, he is making people aware against drugs by holding daily meetings in 5/6 villages of his constituency and similarly, under the leadership of MP Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal and MLA Dr. Ishank Kumar, he is also holding meetings in some villages of Mahilpur. He said that under that campaign, he is getting full support of the people. Those who earlier used to consider their family member trapped in drug addiction as a disgrace and did not come forward, now due to the efforts being made by the police, they come forward for treatment without any hesitation and also give information about drug smugglers without any fear. He appealed to the youth not to be mislead about the property and livelihood of such people because such earnings mostly lead to loss and only the government has the right over it. He said that the drug trade in the area is on the verge of ending.
