Calls for Stronger Industrial Infrastructure in Punjab to Harness Global Trade Gains
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Feb.14 : Managing Director of ID Steel Industries Limited, Harish Chaudhary, has welcomed the recent positive developments in international trade, describing them as a significant boost for India’s export-driven sectors. Reacting to the Indian government’s successful trade negotiations with European leadership and the decision of the United States to reduce tariffs by up to 18 percent, he termed the move as highly encouraging for Indian exporters.
Harish Chaudhary stated that the tariff reduction by the US government will substantially benefit Indian trade and agro-based products, opening new avenues for manufacturers and farmers alike. He noted that sectors such as steel, agro-processing, and value-added agricultural products are likely to witness enhanced demand in international markets. According to him, this development will strengthen India’s global trade position and provide much-needed momentum to export-oriented industries.
Sharing his perspective on Punjab, he emphasized that while international trade policies are turning more favorable, the state government must take concrete measures to strengthen the industrial ecosystem. He stressed the need for improved infrastructure, robust law and order, and timely resolution of industrial concerns to attract fresh investments into the state.
Harish Chaudhary further highlighted that Punjab, being predominantly an agro-industrial state, holds immense potential to expand both agricultural exports and industrial production. With focused policy support, better connectivity, ease of doing business, and enhanced industrial security, Punjab can position itself as a leading export-driven state in the country.
He concluded by underlining that coordinated efforts between the central and state governments will play a crucial role in ensuring sustained industrial growth and long-term economic development for Punjab.
