Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Dec.16 : The 7th State-Level Wushu Federation Cup 2025 was held at Lovely Professional University, Phagwara, in Kapurthala district from December 5 to 7, 2025. Wushu players from various districts across the state participated in the championship.In this Federation Cup, players from the District Wushu Association of Kapurthala, under the leadership of team coach Sukhdeep Singh Bajwa and team manager Prince, delivered an impressive performance and brought laurels to Kapurthala. District Wushu Association of Kapurthala and Youth Sports Welfare Board chairman Rajiv Walia informed that the players selected in this championship will now participate in the National Wushu Federation Cup 2025.Rajiv Walia felicitated the selected Wushu players from Kapurthala and extended his best wishes to them. He encouraged the players to perform well at the National Federation Cup as well. Speaking on the occasion, he underlined that sports play a vital role in women’s empowerment. “When a girl steps onto the sports field, she is not just a player but a leader. She proves that she is in no way less than anyone,” he said.Appealing to the youth, he added, “I urge all of you to adopt sports. Whether it is cricket, football, or any other game—jump in, play, and discover your potential. Sports are not just a means of entertainment, but the foundation of a healthy, empowered and successful life.”In this Federation Cup, gold medals were won by players Rehan Walia, Jaswinder Kumar, Rabia, Navjot Kaur, Shiksha, Anroop, Sahibpreet Singh, Vaishnavi Vani, Ranbir Singh and Sahib Singh. Silver medals were secured by Gurveer Kaur and Navneet, while bronze medals went to Jatin, Taranpreet, Simar, Riya, Gursharan Singh, Jaskaran and Yuvraj.On this occasion, coaches Harpreet Singh, Gurcharan Singh, Balwinder Singh, Santokh Singh, Jaswinder Kaur, Mamta and Gagandeep Kaur were present.
