Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that under CM Di Yogshala, about 255 yoga classes are being run by 49 trainers in the district, in which about 9 thousand people are practicing yoga daily. He said that under CM Di Yogshala Project, all the 10 blocks of the district have been covered and a lot of enthusiasm is being seen among the people towards yoga.
The Deputy Commissioner said that CM Di Yogshala is an initiative by the Punjab Government to provide free yoga education to the citizens of the state. Under this scheme, a team of certified yoga teachers has been established in Punjab to take yoga to every household and to turn it into a mass movement by providing the facility of yoga teachers to the public. Its objective is to highlight the importance of meditation and yoga in improving the physical and mental health of the citizens. As an ancient practice, yoga has proved to be an effective means of improving the quality of one’s life. By practicing it daily, one can develop concentration and establish greater harmony with the environment. She informed that this scheme was started in the state in the month of April last year under the leadership of Chief Minister Punjab Bhagwant Singh Mann, under which different districts of the state have been covered in different phases.
District Coordinator of CM Di Yogashala Madhavi Singh informed that under the leadership of State Advisor Amresh Jha and Kamlesh Mishra, more and more people are being connected with yoga in all the blocks of the district. She informed that CM. Through The Yogshala, people are being given free yoga lessons at a place of their choice such as parks, public places. Madhavi Singh informed that if a person has space to conduct yoga classes and there is a group of at least 25 people, then the Punjab government will send a yoga trained instructor to their home.
