Roads to be Constructed at a Cost of Over ₹9 Crores, Work to Begin Soon – Dr. Ishank Kumar
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/July 3 : In a major infrastructural boost for the Chabbewal constituency, the Punjab Government has approved the widening of four key roads from 10 feet to 18 feet. Sharing this information, Member of Parliament Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal and MLA from Chabbewal Dr. Ishank Kumar stated that the project will be undertaken at an estimated cost of over ₹9 crore, and the construction work will commence soon.
They added that under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Government is consistently working towards strengthening the road network in the Chabbewal area. Responding to long-standing demands of local residents, the state government has approved this project after detailed planning and submission of a project report.
The roads to be widened under this project include:
7.90 km long road from Bihala–Marula–Saidpur to Bham,
1.38 km stretch from Mahilpur–Jejo Road to Chak Naryal,
2.56 km from Mahilpur–Jejo Road to Lalwan,
and 1.60 km from Mahilpur–Phagwara Road to Kharaudi.
Dr. Chabbewal and Dr. Ishank Kumar mentioned that residents of the villages connected by these roads had been facing increasing traffic and were demanding immediate reconstruction and widening. Acting on these requests, the government approved the proposal, which is now set to be implemented.
Dr. Raj Kumar Chabbewal emphasized that the widening and reconstruction of these roads will not only improve transportation facilities but also reduce travel time and enhance connectivity between different locations. Dr. Ishank Kumar added that continuous construction of link roads is underway in Chabbewal, with a special focus on widening existing 10-feet-wide roads to 18 feet wherever necessary.
They also reiterated that the Punjab Government is committed to ensuring quality infrastructure development not only in Chabbewal but across all assembly segments falling under the Hoshiarpur Lok Sabha constituency.
