Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/July 14 : Dr. Parvender Sheoran, Direefor, Indian Council of Agricultural Research-ATARI, Zone-L, Ludhiana visiled PAU- Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Hoshiarpur on July 13, 2025.
Al the oulsel, Dr. Maninder Singh Bons. Associate Direelor (Training). KVK, Hoshiarpur welcomed Dr Sheoran and provided an overview of the KVK activities.
During the visit, Dr. Parvender Sheoran Interacted with KVK staff. He urged the KVK facully to focus on eritical issues such as paddy residue management, adoption of recommended erop variefles, conservation of natural resourees, particularly wafer and judicious use of fertilizers. He also highlighted The importance of infegraled pest management and organie farming to reduce reliance on chemical pesticides. Dr. Sheoran also stressed on the need to support rural women Ihrough capacity-building inilialives, promole integrated farming system approach and inereasing the farmers income Ihrough auxiliary occupations like jaggery processing, mushroom cultivation, agro-processing. beekeeping, poultry farming. goatry and dairy farming.
Dr. Parvender Sheoran visited KVK farm, labs and various demonstration units af KVK, ineluding kifehen gardening, fruif nufrifion gardening, herbal garden, beekeeping, paddy straw based biogas plant, goafry & dairy units, demonstrations on direel seeding of rice & mechanical Iransplanting of paddy. technology park, and other frials and appreciated the work of KVK.
As part of his field visil, Dr. Sheoran interacted with members of the award-winning Lambran Kangri Mullipurpose Cooperative Service Society Limifed, Lambran. Additionally, he visited KVK assoelated award winning progressive farmers, Sh. Narinder Singh of village Aljowal and Sh. Gurdeep Singh of village Kol Faluhi, both recognized for their innovative contributions fo agrieulfure. Dr. Sheoran deseribed the field inferactions as highly enriching and applauded the pioneering work being undertaken at these sites, emphasizing Iheir crucial role in promoling rural innovation and agricultural transformalion.
In the end, Dr. Ajaib Singh, Assistant Professor (Agricultural Engineering), KVK Hoshiarpur expressed his gralilude lo Dr. Sheoran for continued support for the efficient working of PAU-KVK, Hoshiarpur and for his valuable suggestions for further improvement in its funefioning.
