Hoshiarpur/Daljit Ajnoha ; As per the directions of the Department of Local Bodies, the Hoshiarpur Municipal Corporation has launched a cleanliness campaign titled ‘Adopt Cleanliness, Drive Away Diseases’ under the guidance of Commissioner Jyoti Bala Mattu and Joint Commissioner Sandeep Tiwari. The campaign is being led by Health Branch CSO Deepak Kumar and Sanitary Inspector Sanjeev Kumar Nahar.
Municipal Commissioner Jyoti Bala Mattu has appealed to the residents of the city to extend full cooperation in this initiative, stating that the success of this campaign depends largely on public support. She informed that various parts of the city will be cleaned thoroughly under this drive.
She strongly appealed to the citizens to ensure that no stagnant water is left in coolers, broken flower pots, or old junk during the monsoon season. She also advised people to clean animal water containers daily and maintain hygiene in and around their surroundings.
Additionally, citizens are requested to segregate wet and dry waste at home and hand it over separately to sanitation workers. The use of plastic, thermocol, and polythene bags should be strictly avoided. People should neither throw garbage on roads nor burn it, as it harms both health and the environment.
She emphasized that every citizen should contribute towards making the city free from single-use plastic and waste.
