Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/August :Today on 2nd August, 2025, HLMIA organized the Knowledge Sharing Session on Behaviour Based Safety (BBS), a very critical and important programme for industry, for its members al Vardhman Yarns And Threads Limited, Hoshiarpur. The session was chaired by Sh. IMJS Sidhu, President HLMIA Hoshiarpur with HLMIA executive council members Sh B.S Sabharwal, Sh Tarun Chawla, General Secretary and Sh JS Chauhan, Joint Seerefary. Sh. IMJS Sidhu, President HLMIA, while initiating the session shared that Behaviour-based safely (BBS) is a proaelive and dala-driven approach to enhancing workplace safety by focusing on workers actions and behaviours. This methodology aims to reduce hazards, risks, and Ineidents by observing a person’s behaviour and determining what follows when said behaviour seeurs. II involves analysing the consequences of a particular action and providing proper reinforcement for the desired resull. The Session was conducted by and has invited Dr HL. Kalla, a pioneer in BBS Iraining in India who has conducted >1000 BBS workshops in India/ abroad and is a member expert panel for Nafional Safety Council. He served the Central Labour Institute, Ministry of Labour for 10 years and as a Professor at the SNDT Women’s university for 18 years af Mumbal. He is a resouree person for organizations such as ITC, SAIL, GAIL, ESSAR, RIL, Tala Molors, M&M, BPCL., ONGC, Suzlon, TUV, DNV. Bajaj Aulo, Bayer Crop Seienee ele. Dr Kalla while falking aboul BBS programme emphasized thal Behaviour Based safely (BBS) relies on complete Irust and cooperation between the leaders and employees. Behaviour based safely is important beeause il provides long-term solutions for eliminating risks and hazards. This life saving approach fosters a culture of safely in the workplace which is vital for fasfing success. Organizations aim to develop a fotal safety culture within their area of safety is achieved when every employee considers safely as a value and makes sure that their fellow employees are safe. communicate and immediately address any potenfial hazards identified. He also mentioned that it is essentially a behavioural infervention aiming to provide employees with effeelive feedback, reinforcement, and recognition. This program
helps improve safely conditions in the workplace and increase situational awareness of the employees based on behavioural observations.
The Interactive session was well allended by more than 50 Senior Executives of Infernational Tractors Limited, Reliance Industries, Vardhman Yarns & Threads Lid, Century Plyboard, GNA Gears, GNA Axles, Usha Martin, Ludhiana Beverages Pvi Lid, Sonalika Industries and Dras Engineering. The session aimed to promole a positive safely culture and employee’s behavioral awareness in Industrial sellings. Il focuses on equipping supervisors, Safely Officers and Line Managers with praefical fools to identify unsafe behaviour, reinforce safe practices and encourage proaelive safely allilude across all levels of the workforce. Participants expressed great enthusiasm and acknowledged the practical relevance of the fraining.
