Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/August 12 : The Sabhyachar Sambhal Society organized a speech competition at Government Senior Secondary School, Mehilawali, on the theme “My Country, I Belong to My Country.” Addressing the event, Janda said that the biggest challenge after gaining independence is to preserve it, and to achieve this, it is essential to make our children understand the true meaning of freedom.
He further added that the Sabhyachar Sambhal Society has always strived to ensure that children not only remain connected to their culture but also understand their responsibilities towards the nation.
Social worker Sanjeev Talwar, in his address, said that after independence, there was a conspiracy to make us mentally enslaved by detaching us from our culture. He stated that no matter how modern we become, if we abandon our cultural roots, we will not be able to compete with any country in the world. He also encouraged children to celebrate all festivals according to their cultural traditions.
On the occasion, President Award-winning author Dharampal Sahil made the students aware of the challenges that may arise in the future to safeguard freedom. He wished them a bright future and emphasized that only education can lead them to success at every stage of life.
In the competition, Harleen Kaur secured the first position, Surabhi stood second, and Lovesh Kumar came third. They were awarded cash prizes and appreciation certificates by renowned social worker Dr. Ajay Bagga.
Principal Rakesh Kumar, Ranjiv Talwar, Mohan Lal Kalsi, and Harbans Singh Kamal also expressed their views during the event.
