Mahilpur Police Arrest Two Youths

Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Jan.10 : In line with Punjab government’s directives to crack down on anti-social elements and drug traffickers, a special campaign is underway. Under the guidance of Senior Superintendent of Police Sandeep Kumar Malik (IPS), Hoshiarpur, Deputy Superintendent of Police Daljeet Singh Khakh, Garhshankar, directed Sub-Inspector Madan Singh, SHO at Mahilpur police station, to intensify efforts.A police team led by SI Chatarinder Singh (No. 725/HSP), along with constables, conducted patrols and checks using a government vehicle equipped with a laptop, printer, and search kit. While checking suspicious persons and vehicles on ITI Road around 7:25 PM, they spotted two youths standing in suspicious postures next to a number-plate-less Hero Honda motorcycle on the left side of the road.As the police vehicle approached, the duo panicked, abandoned the bike, and tried to flee. They were swiftly apprehended and identified as Shekhar, son of Happy, resident of Kavadiya Mohalla, Birampur Road, and Vishal, son of Rustam, of the same area—both under Garhshankar police station, Hoshiarpur district.A search yielded 80 grams of narcotic substance from Shekhar and 40 grams from Vishal (total 120 grams). A case was registered under FIR No. 7 dated 7, Sections 22/61/85 of the NDPS Act. During interrogation, the duo confessed to stealing a Hero Splendor motorcycle (PB 24 A 9826) from outside Dashmesh Steel Works Welding Shop on December 28, 2025, leading to FIR No. 8 dated 8 under Section 303(2) BNS at Mahilpur police station.Four stolen motorcycles have been recovered from their possession, and further interrogation continues.
