Lohri and Makar Sankranti hold

National players celebrate festival with parents and fellow cricketers at HDC grounds in grand style
Hoshiarpur l Daljeet Ajnoha: Jan.13 : The District Cricket Association Hoshiarpur celebrated the Lohri and Makar Sankranti festivals with great enthusiasm at the HDCA sports ground, bringing together players and their parents. On this occasion, a bonfire was lit, and everyone offered peanuts and rewris into the flames while performing puja.HDCA Secretary Dr. Raman Ghai extended Lohri and Makar Sankranti greetings to all players on behalf of HDCA and PCA, and elaborated on the significance of these festivals. Dr. Ghai stated that our festivals form the foundation of our culture, and we must observe them in accordance with our traditions. He urged the children to take vows on this occasion to conserve water and the environment, as well as maintain cleanliness.Dr. Ghai wished the players success in achieving new heights in their sport by next year’s Lohri and Makar Sankranti, and prayed for their bright future. He also appealed to parents to keep their children connected to their traditions and teach them to follow these practices, so that our invaluable heritage—our traditions and culture—can be preserved for generations to come.At the Lohri event organized on the HDCA grounds, players and their parents enjoyed the festivities by singing Lohri songs and dancing. HDCA President Dr. Daljeet Khela, Joint Secretary Vivek Sahni, Dr. Pankaj Shiv, Jatinder Sood, Subhash Sharma, Yograj Thakur, Manoj Ohri, Advocate Arvind Sood, Sahib Dayal, along with all HDCA office-bearers, extended Lohri and Makar Sankranti wishes to the players.District coach Daljeet Singh, junior coach Daljeet Dhimaan, Pankaj Pinka, Dinesh Sharma, district women’s coach Davinder Kaur Kalyan, junior coach Nikita Kumari, district trainer and former national player Kuldeep Dhami, and groundman Sodhi Ram also congratulated the players. HDCA’s national players—Surbhi Narayan, Anjali Seemar, Shivani, Puja, Vanshika, and Sohana—joined in celebrating the festivals with joy alongside fellow players.Others present included Sukhbir Singh, Ajay Kumar, Amit Thakur, Satpreet, Deepak Kumar, Harish Kumar, and Sanjay Narayan.
