Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Jan.20 : District Planning Committee chairperson Karmjeet Kaur welcomed the Punjab Police’s statewide “Operation Prahaar” against gangsters, describing it as a historic step towards restoring peace and law order in Punjab. She stated that under the fearless and decisive leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, the Punjab Police has declared a direct and resolute war against organised crime and gangster networks.Kaur informed that under the leadership of the Director General of Police (DGP), around 2,000 police teams comprising nearly 12,000 personnel have been actively conducting raids across Punjab since today. The objective of the campaign is not just to arrest criminals but to dismantle their entire network from the roots. She clarified that no one—whether gangsters operating from within the country or from abroad—will be considered above the law.The chairperson said the drive will also boost the morale of the police force, as commendable personnel will be rewarded and encouraged. To ensure public participation, a toll-free number 93946-93946 has been issued, allowing people to share crime-related information with the police without fear.Appealing especially to the youth, Kaur urged those who have strayed onto the wrong path to return to the mainstream of society in time. The government is committed to providing opportunities for their reform and rehabilitation. She expressed confidence that Operation Prahaar will fulfil the resolve to make Punjab crime-free, safe, and peaceful.
