Meeting held with petrol pump and gas agency representatives; Strict action against hoarders
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/Mar.11 : In view of the current situation, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain stated on Wednesday that there is sufficient availability of petrol, diesel, and domestic LPG gas in the district, with no shortage of any kind.During a meeting at the district administrative complex with the Food and Supplies Controller, representatives of the Petrol Pump Association, gas agencies, sales officers of oil marketing companies, and the IOCL district-level coordinator, the Deputy Commissioner assured that there is no disruption in the supply of oil or gas in the district amid the present circumstances, and residents need not panic in any way.The Deputy Commissioner clarified that petrol, diesel, and domestic LPG gas are adequately available in the district. She emphasized that oil companies are maintaining a continuous supply, meeting all public needs. She appealed to district residents not to pay heed to any rumors given the current situation and to refrain from unnecessary purchases of petrol, diesel, or gas out of panic.She added that the administration is closely monitoring the situation, ensuring smooth supply of essential commodities. She also warned that strict legal action will be taken against anyone found hoarding petrol, diesel, or domestic gas, as per the rules.During the meeting, representatives of petrol pump operators and gas agencies assured the administration that they would continue to provide regular supply to consumers and would not allow any artificial shortages.The Deputy Commissioner directed concerned officials to keep a constant watch on the market and immediately inform the administration of any rumors or irregularities, enabling timely action. She noted that SDMs at the sub-division level have also been instructed to monitor the situation.
