Mohali/Daljeet Ajnoha/Mar.15 : The Progressive Punjab Investors Summit held at Plaksha University, Mohali, has also opened new avenues for the tourism sector in Punjab, said Dr. Sanjeev Tiwari, Director Tourism and Cultural Affairs, Punjab, while sharing his views on the occasion.
Dr. Tiwari stated that the summit reflects the Punjab Government’s strong commitment to overall economic development, including tourism and cultural promotion. He appreciated the visionary leadership of Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann and AAP Supremo Arvind Kejriwal for creating a progressive and investor-friendly environment that encourages both industrial and tourism investments in the state.
He also acknowledged the efforts of Punjab’s Minister for Industry, Commerce, Investment Promotion and Local Bodies, Sanjeev Arora, for organizing a large-scale platform that not only strengthens the industrial ecosystem but also highlights Punjab’s immense potential in tourism, hospitality, heritage, and cultural sectors.
Dr. Tiwari said that Punjab has immense potential to emerge as a major tourism destination due to its rich heritage, vibrant culture, spiritual sites, and warm hospitality. Events like the Progressive Punjab Investors Summit help in showcasing these opportunities to national and global investors, encouraging them to explore projects in tourism infrastructure, heritage conservation, eco-tourism, and hospitality.
He further emphasized that the Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department is actively working to promote Punjab’s unique identity, festivals, cuisine, and historical landmarks. The department aims to collaborate with investors and stakeholders to develop world-class tourism facilities that can attract domestic as well as international visitors.
Dr. Tiwari noted that with progressive policies, strong government support, and growing investor confidence, Punjab’s tourism sector is poised for significant growth. He added that the synergy between industry and tourism development will not only boost the state’s economy but also create new employment opportunities for the youth.
The summit witnessed participation from several prominent industrialists and global business leaders, including Lakshmi N. Mittal, Sajjan Jindal, and Sunil Kant Munjal, who discussed the vast opportunities available in Punjab across multiple sectors.
Dr. Tiwari concluded that initiatives like the Progressive Punjab Investors Summit demonstrate Punjab’s readiness to welcome investments and position the state as a dynamic destination for industry, tourism, and cultural exchange in India.
