Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/April 14 : On the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar, architect of the Indian Constitution, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain today paid floral tributes at Baba Sahib’s statue at the local district administrative complex. She called upon everyone to widely propagate Dr. Ambedkar’s pledge of ‘Educate Yourself’ to ensure children receive education, fulfilling the dreams he envisioned for society.
Extending greetings on Baba Sahib’s birth anniversary to officials, employees from various departments, children, and the public, Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain said his struggle-filled life and invaluable contribution to drafting the Constitution would forever guide the nation. She emphasized that the Constitution given by Dr. Ambedkar to the countrymen is unparalleled worldwide, embodying equality, justice, human rights, women’s rights, and unity of the nation.
She noted that the Constitution maker’s entire life was one of struggle, where he strongly advocated equality for all sections of society. Everyone should draw inspiration from his ideals to strengthen the resolve for a healthy society.
The Deputy Commissioner urged that children be encouraged to read the biographies of Dr. Ambedkar and such great personalities of the country, so youth can learn about their struggles and contribute to the progress of society and the nation.
On this occasion, Additional Deputy Commissioner Nikas Kumar, District Social Justice and Empowerment Officer Harpal Singh Gill, senior officials and employees from various departments, and children were present, who all paid floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar.
