DC inspects Dana Mandi, reviews

Officials directed to ensure smooth crop purchase
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/April 14 : Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain today visited the local Dana Mandi, where she reviewed wheat procurement arrangements along with facilities provided for farmers, labourers, and commission agents. She instructed officials to conduct the wheat purchase without any delay and in a smooth manner, ensuring farmers face no inconvenience at the mandis.
Accompanied by Food and Supplies Department officials, DC Ashika Jain interacted with farmers present at the mandi to gather feedback on the arrangements. Balwinder Singh, a farmer from Monakalan village who had brought his produce, expressed satisfaction with the facilities.
The DC stated that apart from procuring farmers’ crops within the stipulated time, payments would also be ensured promptly. She added that all necessary arrangements have been made for the procurement agencies to avoid any hurdles.
Earlier, at the District Administrative Complex, DC Ashika Jain held a meeting with representatives of procurement agencies and Food and Supplies Department officials, directing them to ensure no issues arise for farmers and that their crops are procured smoothly and efficiently in the district’s mandis.
Additional Deputy Commissioner Nikas Kumar and other concerned officials, commission agents, and farmers were present on the occasion.
