Dharminder Tony Meets Sukhbir Badal and NK Sharma, Thanks Them for Appointment
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/April 14 : The Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD) has made new appointments in its trade and industry wing to strengthen the party at the grassroots level in Punjab. Industrialist Dharminder Tony from Phagwara has been appointed as the state general secretary of the trade wing, tasked with taking the party’s policies to every household.
Following his appointment, Tony met party president Sukhbir Singh Badal and SAD trade wing state president NK Sharma to express his gratitude. Notably, Tony is known as an honest leader, and his induction is expected to further bolster the Akali Dal’s trade wing.
During the meeting, NK Sharma stated that the party is continuously making appointments to strengthen its base at the ground level. Tony affirmed that he would discharge the responsibility entrusted to him with complete honesty and ensure the party’s policies reach every home.
Speaking to journalists afterward, Tony said Punjab’s development has deteriorated day by day since the government of Parkash Singh Badal. He added that the state has fallen so far behind that it now requires experience and firm resolve to rebuild it—qualities only the Shiromani Akali Dal can provide.
Tony emphasized that SAD is the only party that discriminates against no community, citing how Parkash Singh Badal constructed memorials for all religions during his tenure. He claimed people are fed up with the current government’s anti-people policies and want an SAD government in the coming times.
The overwhelming support for SAD’s ongoing “Punjab Bachao Yatra” across the state proves that the Akali Dal will form the next government in the upcoming assembly elections, Tony asserted. He accused the ruling Aam Aadmi Party of mere drama in the name of development, noting that the Punjab government shows no seriousness toward people’s issues in the assembly. Over the past four years, only false promises have been made in the name of progress.
