Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/April 24 : In an engaging interaction with noted social worker and journalist Sanjiv Kumar, prominent Rotary leader Kumar Maini, an active member of Rotary Club Dasuya Greater and Assistant Governor of Rotary District 3070, shed light on the impactful social initiatives being carried out across the region.
Kumar Maini highlighted that Rotary District 3070 has been consistently working on diverse humanitarian projects aimed at uplifting communities. These include free medical camps, blood donation drives, educational support for underprivileged children, and environmental conservation campaigns such as tree plantation and water preservation awareness.
Speaking about grassroots impact, Maini stated that local Rotary clubs, including Rotary Club Dasuya Greater, have been playing a vital role in addressing community needs. “Our focus remains on service above self. Whether it is supporting healthcare or promoting education, Rotary members are committed to making a meaningful difference,” he said.
He also emphasized Rotary’s role during times of crisis, noting that members actively participate in relief work during natural disasters and emergencies, ensuring timely assistance reaches those in need.
Highlighting the global footprint of Rotary International, Maini shared that the organization has been instrumental in major international campaigns, especially the eradication of polio through its flagship initiative, End Polio Now. He added that Rotary’s global network connects millions of volunteers who work tirelessly for peace-building, disease prevention, clean water access, and maternal and child health.
