Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/May 6 : The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Hoshiarpur, will organise the second National Lok Adalat of 2026 at district and sub-divisional levels on May 9.
The event will be held under the chairmanship of District and Sessions Judge-cum-Chairman, DLSA, Rajinder Agarwal.
Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM)-cum-Secretary, DLSA, Neeraj Goyal, stated that the Lok Adalat will settle a wide range of cases, including civil matters, rent disputes, motor accident claims tribunal cases, compoundable criminal cases, revenue disputes, cases under Section 138 of the Negotiable Instruments Act, family disputes, labour disputes, bank cases (both pending and pre-litigation), telecom company-related matters, and pre-litigation cases related to electricity and water/sanitation bills (excluding non-compoundable cases).
Both pending court cases and pre-litigation matters will be addressed to benefit the maximum number of people.
CJM-cum-Secretary Neeraj Goyal appealed to the public to bring forward as many cases as possible to the Lok Adalat. He highlighted that these forums enable swift resolution, saving time and money, and their awards carry the same enforceability as a civil decree.
He further informed that individuals with pending traffic challans in courts can include them in the May 9 Lok Adalat.
To check traffic challan details, visit ecourts.gov.in, select the state and district, then enter the party name and challan number to find out which court the case is pending in.
The DLSA Secretary urged people to settle maximum cases through the Lok Adalat and avail this opportunity.
