EVM WAREHOUSE MONTHLY CHECK CONDUCTED;

Following guidelines from the Election Commission of India, Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Ashika Jain today carried out the monthly inspection of the district EVM warehouse for May (without opening the machines). During the visit, the log book and entry register were examined to ensure transparency and security.
Ashika Jain said the monthly inspection of the warehouse and voting machines is an important process, during which the overall arrangements at the facility are reviewed. She added that the district warehouse met high standards.
Addressing representatives of political parties present at the site, the Deputy Commissioner urged them to deploy booth-level agents in view of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR), so that political parties can participate at the booth level in the SIR process.
She said that, as per Election Commission instructions, a thorough revision of the electoral rolls will be undertaken in the district under the SIR. Citing the schedule issued by the Commission on May 14, she said detailed preparations for the SIR will be carried out from June 15 to June 24, and BLOs will visit households to fill forms from June 25 to July 24, 2026.
She appealed for full cooperation with BLOs to ensure accurate and complete information is collected.
The Deputy Commissioner said the draft electoral roll will be published on July 31 and made available in all government offices. Claims and objections from voters and political party representatives will be accepted from July 31 to August 30. These claims and objections will be disposed of by September 28, and the final publication of the electoral rolls will take place on October 1, 2026.
She urged voters and political party representatives to contact the district election office with any questions regarding the SIR.
Representatives present included Jai Ram of the Aam Aadmi Party, Rajnish Tandon of the Indian National Congress, Bhushan Kumar Sharma of the Bharatiya Janata Party, Jagtar Singh of the Shiromani Akali Dal, along with staff from the election office.
