Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha /June 18 : A press conference praising Prime Minister Narinder Modi’s 12-year administrative tenure was held under the chairmanship of BJP district president Nipun Sharma, with former Union Minister of State Somprakash Kaith addressing the media on behalf of the state.
Speaking to reporters, Somprakash lauded the Centre’s “successful and historic” twelve-year term under Prime Minister Modi and said that voters reaffirmed their faith in him by electing him prime minister three consecutive times, endorsing his leadership, working style and dedication to national interest. He added that under Modi’s leadership India has taken several landmark decisions and achieved milestones that have transformed the nation’s direction and condition.
Somprakash said that during Modi’s first term programmes such as Jan Dhan Yojana, Swachh Bharat Mission, Ujjwala Yojana, Digital India and Make in India brought positive change to the lives of millions. In the second term, he noted, the government took bold and historic steps including the abrogation of Articles 370 and 35A in Jammu and Kashmir, enactment of the Citizenship Amendment Act, clearing the way for the construction of the Sri Ram Janmabhoomi temple, and launching the Aatmanirbhar Bharat (self-reliant India) initiative.
He said that in the third term Prime Minister Modi is working with the vision of a developed India by 2047 to establish the country among the world’s leading powers. Today India is reaching new heights in G20 leadership, a strong economy, digital transformation, record infrastructure growth, women’s empowerment, national security and global leadership, he added.
Somprakash highlighted achievements including the historic success of Chandrayaan-3, construction of the new Parliament building, development of Kartavya Path, expansion of Vande Bharat trains and numerous welfare schemes for the poor, saying these have opened a new chapter of development. He said India’s voice is now heard strongly on the global stage and every Indian feels proud.
He described Modi’s 12-year tenure as more than a political success story — a testament to nation-building, good governance, transparency and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the poor. He stressed that public trust is the Prime Minister’s greatest strength and, propelled by that trust, India is rapidly advancing toward becoming a developed nation.
Former minister Tikshan Sood, state secretary Meenu Sethi, former mayor Shiv Sood, Bindusar Shukla, Suresh Bhatia, Kamal Verma, Bharat Bhushan Verma, Ashwani Gaind, Ankush Walia, Prem Bajaj, Manjinder Singh Sian, Vipul Walia, Yashu Jain, Arunesh Kapoor, Samarjeet Singh, Tushe Sood and others were present at the event.
