Hoshiarpur Municipal Corporation: Nomination Centres

Hoshiarpur /Daljeet Ajnoha/June 22 : Additional Deputy Commissioner (Rural Development) and Additional District Election Officer Nikas Kumar announced that the Punjab State Election Commission has declared the Hoshiarpur Municipal Corporation general elections, 2026. As per the schedule, prospective candidates may file their nomination papers from 22 to 25 June 2026.
Kumar said returning officers have set up three nomination centres for different wards of the Hoshiarpur Municipal Corporation and that the centres have been revised. Candidates from wards 1 to 17 will now file their nomination papers at the District Development and Panchayat Officer’s office, in the courtroom on the first floor of the District Administrative Complex. Candidates from wards 18 to 31 will submit nominations at the Executive Engineer’s office of Construction Division No. 1, Public Works Department (Buildings & Roads), near the Head Post Office, Civil Lines, Hoshiarpur. For wards 32 to 50, the courtroom at the SDM office in the Tehsil Complex (near Jail Chowk), Hoshiarpur, has been designated as the nomination centre.
He said the respective returning officers will scrutinise nomination papers on 26 June, and after the withdrawal process on 27 June, the final list of eligible candidates contesting the polls will be published.
Additional District Election Officer Nikas Kumar added that adequate security arrangements have been ordered at the designated locations to ensure a smooth and peaceful nomination process. Polling across the municipal corporation’s 50 wards will be held on Sunday, 5 July 2026. He affirmed that the administration remains fully committed to conducting a free, fair and peaceful election.
