Civil Surgeon Extends Greetings to

Hoshiarpur/ Daljeet Ajnoha/June 30 : On the occasion of National Doctors’ Day, observed on July 1, Civil Surgeon Hoshiarpur Dr. Mandeep Kamal extended heartfelt greetings to all government and private doctors in the district, programme officers, senior medical officers, medical officers, dental surgeons, specialist physicians, staff nurses, ANMs, multipurpose health workers, community health officers, ASHA workers and all other health personnel. She said every employee connected with health services is an important link in the public health security chain, and it is through their combined efforts that people receive quality healthcare.
Dr. Mandeep Kamal said doctors are true karmayogis (workers devoted to duty) who protect the health of society and strive to give patients a new lease of life, day and night, with full devotion, dedication and humanity. She added that the selfless service rendered by doctors and all health workers during emergencies, pandemics, natural disasters and other health crises has always been a source of inspiration for society. She emphasized that medicine is not merely a profession but the highest form of service to humanity.
She noted that National Doctors’ Day is observed every year on July 1 in memory of the eminent physician, teacher and social worker Dr. Bidhan Chander Roy, former Chief Minister of West Bengal. The day is dedicated to honouring the selfless service, commitment and invaluable contributions of doctors to the healthcare sector.
The Civil Surgeon said the success of the health department is not only the result of doctors’ efforts but stems from the collective dedication of the entire health team. She praised programme officers, senior medical officers, medical officers, staff nurses, paramedical staff, ANMs, multipurpose health workers, community health officers and ASHA workers for their hard work and spirit of service, which enable the health department to deliver effective services to the people.
She appealed to all programme officers, senior medical officers and medical officers in the district to implement all national health programmes more effectively and ensure the delivery of quality, timely and patient-centred services. She stressed that empathy, sensitivity and respectful treatment of every patient are fundamental to healthcare and that every health worker must remain committed to these principles.
Dr. Kamal specially lauded staff nurses, ANMs, multipurpose health workers, community health officers and ASHA workers, noting that by visiting homes they play a vital role in successful implementation of immunization, maternal and child health, family welfare, tuberculosis, dengue, malaria, non-communicable diseases, nutrition and other national health programmes. She said these frontline health workers are the strongest link of the health department due to their direct contact with the public.
The Civil Surgeon urged people to stay health-conscious, undergo periodic health check-ups, follow doctors’ advice for treatment and adopt a healthy lifestyle. She emphasized that building a healthy society requires mutual trust, cooperation and participation between the public and the health department.
