Billa Bricks founder pledges to fund and organise free anti-mosquito fogging across wards; residents asked to apply through local welfare committees or councillors
Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/July 23 :  With the monsoon season increasing the risk of dengue and other mosquito-borne illnesses, social worker Manish Gupta (Billa Bricks) has launched a public-spirited initiative to provide free fogging in neighbourhoods across the city.
Addressing residents, Gupta warned that dengue is a serious and potentially fatal disease that poses a threat to patients’ lives and can impose a heavy financial burden on affected families. He urged every citizen to take responsibility for prevention by maintaining cleanliness around homes, shops, factories and offices, and ensuring that water does not accumulate anywhere — a primary breeding ground for mosquitoes.
Gupta advised people to wear long-sleeved clothing and full-length trousers during the rainy season and to adopt all necessary precautions to avoid mosquito bites.
He said neighbourhoods or wards that wish to arrange fogging should send a written request from the local welfare committee president or the ward councillor. On receipt of such a petition, his organisation will arrange comprehensive fogging in the area at no charge.
Gupta made it clear that no fees will be collected from local residents; the entire cost of the fogging will be borne by his organisation, Billa Bricks, as a public service. Residents in need of the service can contact him via WhatsApp at 98150-78225.
He added that an effective fight against dengue requires the participation of both the administration and the community.
