An Evening Dedicated to Lord

MLA Bram Shankar jimpa and Advisor to Punjab’s Tourism and Cultural Affairs Department Deepak Bali announced that a grand religious congregation, “An Evening Dedicated to Lord Shiva,” will be held on August 11 at the Dusehra Ground in Hoshiarpur. The event will begin at 6:30 pm and will feature a devotional performance by renowned singer Kailash Kher.
Jimpa and Bali inspected the Dusehra Ground on Saturday with administrative officials to review preparations and arrangements for the function. They directed officers to ensure timely provision of facilities for devotees, security, traffic management, parking, drinking water, sanitation, medical aid and other essential services.
MLA Jimpa said the event is being organised on a large scale and is expected to draw thousands of devotees. “All required arrangements are being put in place so that devotees do not face any inconvenience,” he said.
Deepak Bali said the Punjab government, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann, is fully supporting arrangements and facilities for the congregation. He added that Chief Minister Mann and Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal will attend the event as devotees to seek Lord Shiva’s blessings. Bali described the congregation as not only a religious programme but also a symbol of faith, culture and social harmony that will strengthen brotherhood, unity and goodwill in society.
Jimpa emphasised that the event represents the collective faith and cooperation of the entire region rather than any single organisation. He said the Punjab government is assisting with necessary arrangements while local temple committees, religious bodies and social organisations are coordinating to make the event a success. He appealed to devotees from Hoshiarpur and neighbouring areas to attend the grand congregation with their families to receive Lord Shiva’s blessings and reinforce the message of social unity and brotherhood.
Additional Deputy Commissioner (Admin) Nidhi Kumud Bambah, Superintendent of Police Navneet Kaur and other departmental officials were present during the inspection.
