Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/August 10 : Punjab’s Minister for Prisons and Non-Resident Indian Affairs, Dr. Ravjot Singh, will hoist the national flag during the district-level Independence Day function to be held at the local police lines on August 15.
Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain today reviewed preparations and arrangements with civil and police administration officials at the police lines, urging full participation in the celebrations. She asked that all necessary preparations be completed on time to ensure the district-level ceremony is conducted with patriotic fervour and enthusiasm.
The deputy commissioner said various contingents will take part in the parade and multiple departments will present tableaux showcasing their achievements. She directed police officers to implement necessary traffic and security arrangements and instructed municipal corporation officials to ensure decoration and cleanliness across the city.
A full-dress rehearsal has been scheduled for August 13, and officials were advised to finalise preparations well in advance. School students will perform choreographies set to patriotic songs during the ceremony.
