Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/August 10 : At Shri Siddh Peeth Mandir on Monday evening, the ongoing Shri Bhaktmal Katha, presided over by Pandit Rajkumar, featured national saint Param Shraddhey Shri Gordas Ji Maharaj from Vrindavan as the principal speaker. Delivering the discourse at 6:00 pm, Gordas Ji expanded on the life and teachings of Nabha Ji and urged devotees to remember the first stanza composed by Nabha Ji every morning and evening.
He said that regular remembrance of the verse ensures the Lord’s protection round the clock and helps dispel the fear of death from the mind. The saint explained that focusing daily on the footprints imprinted on the sole of Lord Krishna’s right foot and those on Radha’s left foot removes negative energies and harmful thoughts, replacing them with positive ones. This, he added, enables devotees to perform their duties in family life, work and worship and, by the grace of the Satguru, attain a vision of the Lord in this lifetime and body.
Gordas Ji elaborated on several sacred symbols sung about in devotional hymns, saying that recalling the ankush (goad) keeps the mind from wandering, meditation on the vajra destroys sins, and remembering the dhenu-pad (cow’s footprint) helps one cross the world’s ocean of existence with ease. He said the conch banishes negative thoughts, the swastika brings life into balance and gradually removes anger, greed and other vices, while the fish emblem and the lotus help steady the mind and keep it from being mired in worldly attachments.
Devotees were moved by the bhajans sung during the event and joined in devotional dance. The Katha committee has invited all lovers of dharma in the city to attend the remaining sessions, held daily at 6:00 pm.
