Hoshiarpur /Daljeet Ajnoha/August 10: The first Punjab State Executive Committee meeting of the All India Agarwal Sammelan was successfully held on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the renowned Rangla Punjab Haveli in Jalandhar under the chairmanship of Punjab State President Surinder Agarwal. Several important decisions regarding the expansion of the organisation, upcoming programmes and strengthening unity within the community were taken during the meeting.
More than 100 office-bearers and executive committee members from various districts and units of Punjab participated in the meeting. Representatives from Amritsar, Batala, Gurdaspur, Abohar, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Ludhiana, Machhiwara, Malerkotla, Patiala, Mohali, Jaito, Faridkot, Zira, Ropar, Sangrur and Barnala, among others, actively participated. The enthusiastic participation of the women’s wing was also witnessed during the meeting.
The major highlight of the meeting was the decision of the National Executive Committee to extend the tenure of Punjab State President Surinder Agarwal from 2026 to 2031, in recognition of his dedicated services and contribution to the organisation. Following the announcement, all the office-bearers and members present stood up and applauded him, extending their warm congratulations. They also assured their full cooperation in strengthening the organisation under his leadership.
Detailed discussions were held on celebrating the upcoming Maharaja Agrasen Jayanti on a grand scale across Punjab. It was unanimously decided that the state-level celebration would be organised on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at the campus of Saraswati Group of Colleges, Gharuan, Mohali. The decision was taken following a special invitation extended by Bihari Lal, Chairman of Saraswati Group of Colleges and Senior Vice President of the organisation. The house expressed its gratitude to Bihari Lal for the invitation.
The meeting also reviewed preparations for the National Executive Committee meeting scheduled to be held in Amritsar on January 2 and 3, 2027. The members resolved to make the upcoming national gathering a historic and successful event.
Punjab State President Surinder Agarwal and Senior Vice President Harish Goyal also shared details of the important decisions taken during the recent national meeting held at Tatanagar (Jamshedpur) with members of the Punjab Executive Committee.
Several new appointments were announced with the objective of further strengthening the organisation. Arun Agarwal and Puneet Goyal of Batala were appointed as Vice Presidents of the Punjab unit. In the women’s wing, Vibha Bansal of Zira was appointed State President, Sakshi Gupta of Hoshiarpur as General Secretary and Payal Agarwal of Batala as Vice President.
Similarly, Jaideep Agarwal was appointed President of the Batala unit, Puneet Bansal as Senior Vice President and Avnish Agarwal as General Secretary. The newly appointed office-bearers were congratulated by the members.
The meeting was addressed by Punjab State President Surinder Agarwal, General Secretary Ashok Agarwal, Senior Vice Presidents Bihari Lal, Harish Goyal, Heera Mani Agarwal and G.S. Mittal, Zonal Chairman Rajesh Agarwal, Secretary Naveen Agarwal, Jalandhar President Dhani Ram Gupta and Women’s Wing State President Vibha Bansal, among others.
The speakers emphasised that strengthening unity within the Agarwal community, expanding the organisation, increasing the participation of youth and women, and giving further momentum to social service activities would remain among the key priorities of the organisation.
At the conclusion of the meeting, all office-bearers and members expressed their unity and resolved to work with full dedication, energy and commitment to make all upcoming programmes of the All India Agarwal Sammelan successful.
