Chief Minister to Flag Off

Hoshiarpur /Daljeet Ajnoha/August 10 :
Under the Punjab government’s “Chief Minister Pilgrimage” initiative, Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann and Aam Aadmi Party national convenor Arvind Kejriwal will flag off buses bound for major pilgrimage centres — Shri Khatu Shyam, Salasar Balaji, Mathura–Vrindavan and Haridwar–Rishikesh — from Roshan Ground here on Wednesday.
Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain inspected arrangements this evening at Roshan Ground along with civil and police officials and said 15 buses will depart from Hoshiarpur for the pilgrimage locations. She added that buses carrying devotees from Hoshiarpur, Jalandhar, Kapurthala, Pathankot and Gurdaspur districts will go to the religious sites. Devotees will attend a bhajan sandhya (evening devotional session) at Raushan Ground before the buses depart, and all necessary arrangements are being implemented for the journey.
The state government is providing complete logistics for the pilgrimage under the Chief Minister Pilgrimage scheme, including travel, accommodation and meals. Of the 15 buses leaving Hoshiarpur, three — representing the Hoshiarpur, Mukerian and Dasuya assembly constituencies — will head to Haridwar–Rishikesh. From Jalandhar district, devotees from Jalandhar West, Jalandhar Central and Jalandhar North will be taken to Shri Khatu Shyam–Salasar Balaji. Two buses from Phagwara and Batala will convey pilgrims to Mathura–Vrindavan. In addition, one bus each from Gurdaspur, Batala, Pathankot, Phagwara, Jalandhar West, Jalandhar Central and Jalandhar North will proceed to Haridwar–Rishikesh.
