Surender Lamba said that on August 2, Harmesh Lal son of Ram Lubhaya resident Khairar Rawal Bassi Police Station Mahilpur, who lived alone in the house, was about 60 years old, who was murdered in his house, in connection with which case number 151 dated 02/08/2024 A/D has been registered against unknown persons in Police Station Mahilpur. 103 BNS PS Mahilpur was registered. To investigate the murder, separate teams of Sub-Division Garhshankar, local police and CIA staff of Hoshiarpur were formed. The said teams conducted a thorough investigation with the help of technology, CCTV footage and intelligence sources and within 24 hours, 3 accused were arrested in the said case. The said deceased person Harmesh Lal used to live alone in the house due to differences with his family and his wife had taken her 4 children (3 girls and 1 boy) to her maternal home in village Rahalli, Thana Mehtiana about 08/09 years ago. During the investigation, the case was thoroughly investigated and using intelligence sources, within 24 hours the accused Amarjit Singh and Sunil Kumar sons of Ram Prakash, Sandeep Singh son of Gurmeet Singh resident of Khairar
Rawal Bassi PS Mahilpur were arrested. During interrogation, the accused admitted that they had entered Harmesh Lal’s house with the intention of theft and killed him by covering his mouth with a cloth and fled from the spot after committing the murder. On which the said accused was produced in the honourable court and taken on police remand and further intensive interrogation is being done by the police.
