Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/May 11 : Senior BJP leader and former Cabinet Minister Tikshan Sood has stated that the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), which has long certified itself as paragons of honesty while accusing other parties of corruption, is now seeing its own rank dishonesty slowly unravel. During its time in power in Delhi, AAP leaders were embroiled in numerous scams, including the liquor policy scandal that landed several top leaders behind bars. In Punjab, the corruption among AAP workers and leaders is no secret—government work at tehsils, police stations, municipal corporations, or other offices doesn’t get done without under-the-table deals.
Many AAP ministers and MLAs are already facing corruption probes. Just last week, ED raids at Western Tower in Kharar uncovered crores in cash, linked to the Chief Minister’s PA and a minister. When AAP elevated businessman and Minister Sanjeev Arora to the Rajya Sabha, it sparked massive uproar over alleged quid pro quo. He was then made an MLA through a by-election and handed powerful portfolios. The ED raids have now leveled serious charges of financial irregularities against Minister Arora.
Sood remarked that this party, which won votes on the plank of honesty, has devolved into a haven for millionaires and swindlers. It extorts hefty sums through corruption, squeezing the public like leeches. Arora’s arrest has laid bare AAP’s dishonest face.
