ADC reviews development works, directs

Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha /July 29 — Acting on Deputy Commissioner Ashika Jain’s instructions, Additional Deputy Commissioner (Development) Dr. Nidhi Kumud Bambah today reviewed ongoing development works across the district and urged officers to expedite work and ensure welfare schemes reach all eligible beneficiaries. Chairing a meeting of department heads at the District Administrative Complex, she took a detailed review of departmental functioning.
Addressing a road safety meeting during the review, the ADC directed identification of black spots and implementation of safety measures to prevent accidents. She also instructed officials to intensify public awareness about the Rahgīr and Farishtey schemes. The transport department reported that 44 awareness camps were held in May and 40 in June. Under the Safe School Vehicle policy, 110 school vehicles were checked and 23 challans issued. The police reported enforcement drives that resulted in 6,015 challans in May and 5,078 in June.
Dr. Bambah then reviewed progress on GST, excise, the district environment committee, UEIP, Swachh Bharat Mission (Urban), solid and liquid waste management, UEIP, and the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban). She emphasised that the district administration aims to ensure transparency, quality and timeliness in development works.
The ADC also chaired a health department meeting to review running programmes and reminded officials to meet their targets. She reviewed activities aimed at preventing vector-borne and water-borne diseases and lauded the efforts of group health officers, urging them to maintain the momentum. The performance of the Common People’s Clinic (Aam Aadmi Clinic) was reviewed as well. She called for increased efforts to ensure more deliveries take place in government hospitals and asked that financial assistance for deliveries to women from BPL families be disbursed smoothly. Directing stricter inspections of medical stores under the Drugs and Cosmetics Act, she warned of stern action against irregularities. She also called for greater awareness on tuberculosis and prompt treatment for identified patients.
Present at the meeting were Assistant Commissioner (Development) Dr. Sumit Mudh, SDM Dasuha Kanwaljit Singh, SDM Garhshankar Sanjeev Kumar, SDM Tanda Lavpreet Singh, SDM Hoshiarpur Parmpreet Singh, SP Navneet Kaur and other departmental officials.
