A Commitment to People-Centric Policing Ensuring transparency, accountability, and public trust has been a key focus for Punjab Police. DIG Alka Meena emphasized the importance of community-oriented policing, where citizen engagement and proactive measures take precedence.
 “A transparent and accountable police force is the need of the hour. Our focus is on proactive measures, modern technology, and citizen engagement to ensure a safer Punjab,” she affirmed.
Modernizing Punjab Police: Technology & Innovation Recognizing the evolving challenges in law enforcement, Punjab Police, under DGP Gaurav Yadav’s leadership, is adopting cutting-edge technology to streamline operations and improve crime detection. DIG Alka Meena highlighted key initiatives, including digital policing, AI-driven crime analysis, and smart surveillance.

Addressing Key Challenges: Cybercrime & Drug Trafficking With rising threats such as cybercrime, drug trafficking, and organized crime, Punjab Police is strengthening its cybercrime cells and inter-agency collaborations. DIG Alka Meena highlighted the importance of digital forensics and public awareness campaigns in tackling these challenges.
 “Strengthening cybercrime units, increasing intelligence sharing, and engaging the public through awareness initiatives are crucial in tackling emerging threats,” she noted.
