Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/August 27 :
A program titled ‘Plant Trees, Save the Environment’ was organized here at the Water Tank in Ajit Nagar, Aslamabad, by the Alliance Club Hoshiarpur Greater under the chairmanship of Ally. Ramesh Kumar. On this occasion, Municipal Councillor of the area Mukhi Ram, Alliance Club’s International Director Ally. Ashok Puri, Winner of Kargil Captain Karnail Singh, retired coach Jhirmal Singh, retired S.D.E. (P.W.D.) Tarsem Singh and Sulakkhan Singh, retired Superintendent of the Health Department Shri Nathu Ram, and 86-year-old soldier of the Punjabi mother tongue, Kultar Singh Kultar, were specially present .
Surender Gupta, Harjeet Kumar, Deepak Kumar, Shashi Bala, and Yoga Teacher Poornima played an important role in making the ‘Plant Trees, Save the Environment’ program a success. After the introduction of the dignitaries present, Mango, Tahli, and Neem trees were planted near the water tank. On this occasion, M.C. Mukhi Ram thanked the Alliance Club Hoshiarpur Greater for organizing the program in his ward and motivated the Kargil Winner, coach, and retired officials of the area to continue organising such events to spread awareness in society.
International Director Ally. Ashok Puri stated that while planting a tree is not a big task, taking care of it is the most important part, and this can only be done by the conscious and aware residents of the area. For this, I congratulate the people of Ajit Nagar, Yoga Teacher Poornima, and her team. He also mentioned that planting trees is a social responsibility of every human being and our future generations can lead a healthy life only if we plant trees.
On this occasion Captain Karnail Singh, M.C. Mukhi Ram, Coach Jhirmal Singh, retired Superintendent Nathu Ram, retired S.E.D. Tarsem Singh, and Sulakkhan Singh were honoured with shawls by the Alliance Club. Following this, M.C. Mukhi Ram, Ally. Rajesh Kumar and Ally. Ashok Kumar Puri were honoured by the residents of the locality for organizing today’s program.
During the event, a two-minute silence was observed to pay tribute to Kultar Singh Kultar’s nephew, Dr. Pradeep Singh Sethi, Associate Professor at Medical College Amritsar, who passed away in an accident. All the dignitaries expressed concern over the rising number of accidents in recent times. The Yoga team of Ajit Nagar and their Yoga coach Poornima imparted a special contribution to the success of today’s program.
