The Punjab State Choukball Association organized a seminar at Police D.A.V. School, PAP Jalandhar under the leadership of Rakesh Kumar. Members from various districts of Punjab participated in the seminar and gained detailed knowledge about the game of Choukball.
On this occasion, DSP Partho Preetam and Youth Sports Welfare Board Chairman Rajeev Walia attended as special guests. DSP Partho Preetam extended his best wishes and emphasized that in today’s time, everyone should actively participate in sports. He added that today’s young generation is less involved in physical activities and prefers spending more time on mobile phones. He appealed to parents to encourage their children to take part in sports.
Youth Sports Welfare Board Chairman Rajeev Walia congratulated the participants of the seminar and assured that with their support, Choukball will soon be introduced in schools and colleges across Punjab. He also motivated the young generation to take part in this sport.
Rakesh Kumar explained the finer details of the game to the participants and highlighted that the main objective of organizing this seminar was to expand the reach of Choukball in Punjab, so that players from the state can also compete at district, state, national, and international levels.
The seminar witnessed participation from Surekha Sharma, Saya Saini, Daljit Singh (Jalandhar), Tejinder Singh (Barnala), Gagandeep Kaur, Pradeep Bajaj, Gurveer Kaur, Mamta, Vijeta Rani (Kapurthala), Dheeraj Kumar Sharma (Hoshiarpur), Balwinder Singh Bains, Rahul Grover, Amandeep Singh, Rashpal Kaur, Komal Kumari, Samar Chhabra, Varun, Ramanpreet Kaur, and Tamanna (Moga).
