Hoshiarpur/ July 1 /Daljeet Ajnoha : In an insightful conversation with senior journalist Sanjeev Kumar, Advocate P.S. Ghuman, the President of the Bar Association, Hoshiarpur, emphasized his vision of a more accessible, inclusive, and welfare-oriented legal system.
Advocate Ghuman stressed that justice must never be a privilege, but a right available to all, especially the economically weaker sections of society. “Our legal system, though robust, needs to be more approachable for the common man. Legal aid must reach those who hesitate to seek help due to financial or procedural barriers,” he said.
He reiterated his commitment to strengthening the free legal aid system and ensuring that the marginalized communities are informed and empowered to claim their rights through legal channels. “Awareness is key. People must know that justice is not out of their reach,” he added.
On the welfare of advocates, Advocate Ghuman highlighted several pressing concerns faced by the legal fraternity. “There is a need for better infrastructure, insurance schemes, and social security for young and struggling lawyers. The Bar Council and government must collaborate to ensure the well-being of those who form the backbone of our judicial system,” he said.
He also proposed the introduction of skill development and training workshops for young lawyers to equip them with modern legal tools and practices.
Advocate Ghuman affirming his dedication to legal reform, access to justice, and advocate welfare, pledging that under his leadership, the Bar Association of Hoshiarpur will continue to work as a pillar of support for both the public and the legal community.
