Bassi Khwajju Market residents honour

Hoshiarpur /Daljeet Ajnoha/August 8— Residents and traders of Bassi Khwajju market held a felicitation ceremony to thank Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) officials after a long-standing electricity problem in the market was resolved. The event, organised under the leadership of market head Deepak Narula, specially honoured SDO Vikrant Joshi, JE Sarabjit Singh and other members of the trade wing for their efforts. Sanjeev Arora, president of Bharat Vikas Parishad and noted social worker, attended the programme as the chief guest.
Narula said the market and surrounding households had long suffered from low load and resulting low voltage and frequent power interruptions, which adversely affected businesses. Market representatives had repeatedly contacted PSPCL officials and formally notified the department in writing seeking a permanent solution. PSPCL acted promptly, Narula added, and installed a new transformer in the area. Following the installation, power supply in Bassi Khwajju market and neighbouring localities improved significantly, bringing relief to residents and shopkeepers.
Sanjeev Arora welcomed the timely resolution, saying prompt redressal of basic civic problems provides great relief to people. He praised the PSPCL officials for taking cognisance of the market’s complaints and treating the matter as a priority. Arora urged civic bodies and departments to maintain positive coordination with community and trade organisations to resolve public issues.
During the ceremony, trade members thanked the PSPCL officials and said the transformer installation had substantially improved the power supply and eased business operations. Those present included vice-president Sachin Pal, Gurjeet Singh, Naresh Bhola, Sodhi Vig, Sandeep Bhatia, Satpal, Sameer Verma, Ankush Patti and other trade-wing members.
