LMohali, Punjab | Report by Daljeet Ajnoha, Bureau Chief : Even while living on foreign soil, love and attachment toward one’s motherland never fade/ Major Dr. Munish Chauhan, serving as a medical surgeon in the British Army, believes that no matter how busy one’s life becomes, maintaining one’s connection to roots and homeland is a sacred duty of every Indian.
***Global Campaign to Remember Martyrs /Dr Gurinder Pal Singh Josan
**Dr. Gurinder Pal Singh Josan, the US-based founder and president of the Saragarhi Foundation, has taken upon himself the mission to spread stories of heroism and sacrifice of Indian soldiers across the globe. He has authored sixteen books, one of which inspired the Bollywood film Kesari.
Dr. Josan said his aim is to ensure the valor of Indian and Punjabi martyrs occupies a place of pride in world history.
**‘India Heritage Visit 2025’ by British Army Delegation*
Recently, a delegation from the British Army arrived in India under the India Heritage Visit 2025 programme, led by Major Dr. Munish Chauhan. The team included Major General John Kendall, Lieutenant Colonel Alice Archer, Major Hina Marjaria, Captain Kamaljit Sandhu, Squadron Leader Mandeep Kaur, Simranjeet Singh, Sarabjeet Singh, Aniket Shah, Ranjeev Sangwan, and Jaspinder Singh.The visit was divided into four phases, beginning with Punjab. The delegation visited various historical and religious sites and received immense admiration and valuable insights into India’s heritage and military history.
***Special Meeting With a Martyr’s Family**
In Mohali, the delegation met a family whose forefathers had laid down their lives during World War II. The family showed bravery medals and historic documents to the visiting officers.
Assistant Advocate General C. L. Pawar welcomed Major Chauhan and the team, presenting them with the British Army Indian Heritage Visit 2025 memento. Major Chauhan remarked, “Martyrs are the true wealth of a nation.
***Guardians of the Queen**
Saravjit singh and Simranjit Singh Mann Among the delegation were Saravjit Singh and Simranjit Singh Mann, both of Indian origin, who served as the first Sikh officers in the British Army to be part of the Queen’s Guard. They expressed that returning to Punjab and receiving such warmth and affection was a deeply emotional experience that they would cherish forever. To them, the love of the Punjabi people is the greatest honor.
***Felicitation Ceremony**

On this occasion, Surinder Pal Singh Jhall MD and Davinder Singh Editor-in-Chief respectively of a Mohali-based Hindi-Punjabi daily, also welcomed the delegation. The British Army officers presented them with mementos as a mark of respect and goodwill.
***Symbol of Indian Pride**
The meeting, held in Mohali Chandigarh, stood as a testament to Indian pride and the unwavering loyalty of the Indian diaspora toward their motherland. Despite their overseas service, each member of the delegation displayed profound respect, knowledge, and emotional attachment to India — reminding everyone that patriotism knows no borders
