Hoshiarpur/Daljeet Ajnoha/August 22 : Mahilpur Police have registered a case under Sections 103(1), 115(2), and 3(5) against two individuals after the death of a man who was injured in an assault.

According to police sources, the case was filed on the statement of Jyoti Joshi, son of Harbans Lal, resident of Nurpur Brahmana. Joshi, who drives a mini truck (tempo), stated that his son runs a taxi in Mahilpur.

He reported that on August 21, Amandeep Singh alias Ardeep Singh, son of Gyan Chand of Kandowal, along with his cousins Jeeti and Jatinder, had loaded a wooden table, some boxes of tiles, and scrap items onto his vehicle to sell to Iklash Ali, son of Bachan Shah, a resident of Chandeli. Later, Amandeep Singh confronted him,💐 questioning why he had transported the goods, and brought him to Mahilpur police station along with Iklash. However, no complaint was filed against him, and his son Mohit Joshi took him back home from the police station.

Later that evening, around 4 PM, Mohit Joshi received a call to meet Amandeep and Iklash outside Joshi Enterprises. There, both allegedly quarreled with him. During the altercation, Iklash Ali reportedly held him while Amandeep Singh struck him on the head with a steel bangle (kara), leaving him injured. He managed to escape, received treatment at Civil Hospital, and returned home.

The next morning, around 7:30 AM, his health deteriorated severely. He was taken again to Civil Hospital, where doctors declared him dead.

Based on these statements, police registered a case under the relevant sections. SHO Inspector Jai Pal confirmed that a detailed investigation into the matter is underway.
